About Me
I became a therapist to help people overcome obstacles that prevent them from developing fulfilling and meaningful relationships with family and other people. I aspire through my experience and education to guide people on their journey to becoming more aware of their values, wants, and needs and to help them develop the skills and confidence to achieve their goals.
Professional Training
I have over 9 years of experience providing mental health services to young children, teenagers, adults, and their families in a non-profit organization. My clients have sought my help on mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, and conflicts in their interpersonal relationships.
I have been trained in several evidenced based programs such as Individual Cognitive Behavioral therapy (I-CBT), Functional Family Therapy (FFT), and Managing and Adapting Practices (MAP). I-CBT assists adults with identifying then modifying negative automatic thoughts that influence their feelings and behaviors. FFT focuses on changing negative perceptions of each family member’s roles to decrease conflicts and improve family relationships. MAP emphasizes developing skills such as communication, problem solving, and relaxation.
I am also a Clinical supervisor at a non-profit community mental health agency. I provide individual and group supervision to MFT interns and MSWs.
Education
I obtained a Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) from the University of Southern California and a Bachelors of Arts (BA) in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles.
